Adsorption and chemical extraction of phosphorus as a function of soil incubation time AGRIAMBI
Broggi,Fábio; Oliveira,Alexandre C. de; Freire,Fernando J.; Freire,Maria B. G. dos S.; Nascimento,Clístenes W. A. do.
The objectives of this work were to evaluate the relationship between phosphate adsorption in different mineral soil constituents of the clay fraction to determine the P recovery rate by the Mehlich-1, Mehlich-3, Bray-1 and CaCl2 0.01 mol L-1 extractants as a function of incubation time of soil as well as to compare this rate with physical and chemical soil characteristics. In five soil samples five doses of P based on the maximum phosphate adsorption capacities (MPAC) of the soil, were applied, corresponding to 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.0 level. The samples were incubated for 90, 60, 30, 15 and 0.5 days. The experiment consisted of a 5 x 4 x 5 factorial (five doses, four extractants and five different periods of incubation time) in five different soils, all...

Forms of soil organic phosphorus at black earth sites in the Eastern Amazon Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Costa,Adriane da Rocha; Silva Júnior,Mário Lopes; Kern,Dirse Clara; Ruivo,Maria de Lourdes Pinheiro; Marichal,Raphaël.
ABSTRACT Soils containing archaeological black earth (ABE) are formed by the continuous deposition of organic residue, and maintain their high fertility even after years of cultivation. The aim of this study was to characterise and quantify the forms of organic phosphorus in areas of archaeological black earth (ABE), with a view to understanding the dynamics of the element and contributing to the development of sustainable practices of land use. Samples of 10 profiles were used from Latosols, Argisols and Gleysols located in the eastern Amazon with an anthropogenic A-horizon (ABE), using adjacent, non-anthropogenic soils as reference. The samples relative to the A, transitional and B-horizons, were subjected to sequential fractionation of P in an acid base...

Organic compounds from plant extracts and their effect on soil phosphorus availability PAB
Pavinato,Paulo Sergio; Merlin,Alexandre; Rosolem,Ciro Antonio.
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of organic compounds from plant extracts of six species and phosphate fertilization on soil phosphorus availability. Pots of 30 cm height and 5 cm diameter were filled with Typic Hapludox. Each pot constituted a plot of a completely randomized design, in a 7x2 factorial arrangement, with four replicates. Aqueous extracts of black oat (Avena strigosa), radish (Raphanus sativus), corn (Zea mays), millet (Pennisetum glaucum), soybean (Glycine max), sorghum (Sorghum bicolor), and water, as control, were added in each plot, with or without soluble phosphate fertilization. After seven days of incubation, soil samples were taken from soil layers at various depths, and labile, moderately labile and nonlabile P...

Phosphorus fractions in soil after successive crops of Pinus taeda L. without fertilization Ciência Rural
Gatiboni,Luciano Colpo; Vargas,Cristiane Ottes; Albuquerque,Jackson Adriano; Almeida,Jaime Antonio; Stahl,James; Chaves,Djalma Miller; Brunetto,Gustavo; Dall’Orsoletta,Daniel João; Rauber,Luiz Paulo.
ABSTRACT: Pinus cultivation without fertilization is a common practice in southern Brazil, which can induce a decline in the availability of phosphorus (P) in the soil. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the changes in phosphorus fractions in a Humic Cambisol subjected to continuous Pinus taeda L. cultivation without fertilization. Two forest stands were evaluated, after 16 years of Pinus cultivation (1st crop) and 49 years (3rd crop), when soil samples were collected (layers 0-10, 10-20, 20-40, 40-60, and 60-80cm) from six trenches per forest. In soil samples, the P contained in organic (Po) and inorganic (Pi) forms was determined by sequential chemical fractionation. Labile inorganic P fractions remained unchanged after the different cultivation...

SEQUENTIAL EXTRACTION OF PHOSPHORUS BY MEHLICH-1 AND ION EXCHANGE RESIN FROM B HORIZONS OF FERRIC AND PERFERRIC LATOSOLS (OXISOLS) Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Camêlo,Danilo de Lima; Ker,João Carlos; Novais,Roberto Ferreira; Corrêa,Marcelo Metri; Lima,Vinício Coelho de.
In general, Latosols have low levels of available P, however, the influence of the parent material seems to be decisive in defining the pool and predominant form of P in these soils. This study evaluated P availability by extraction with Mehlich-1 (M-1) and Ion Exchange Resin (IER), from samples of B horizons of Ferric and Perferric Latosols developed from different parent materials. To this end, in addition to the physical and chemical characterization of soils, 10 sequential extractions were performed with M-1 and IER from samples of B horizons (depth between 0.8 and 1.0 m). Total contents of Ca, P, Fe, Al, and Ti were determined after digestion with nitric, hydrofluoric and perchloric acids. The effects of sequential P extractions on Fe oxides were also...
